Photographer, Fedorova Daria – how her “hobby turned into a job”

What significant event got you into photography or was it a gentle ease into it ?

I loved photography since I was a child, my dad always had a good camera and I always tried to shoot with it.

What made you want to keep on going?

I really liked shooting friends when i was a teenager and one day I was offered money for a photo shoot it surprised me and my hobby turned into a job.

Did you find it tough in the beginning due to the expensive price of equipment?

It wasn’t difficult for me , since there was always good equipment at home , and then a new camera became a solution for my loved ones as the best gift for my birthday.

How is the photography you do now different from the photography you did when you first started ?

Photography has been my work for more than 10 years and now I can honestly say that experience is the best teacher , I don’t like my first photos , although this is the path that I had to go threw and I think I’m only at the beginning because now I notice changes more and more often.

You’ve worked with a few models , how is the reach out process?

Although I shoot ordinary people of the time I work with models on creative shoots that organize myself But when I started I collaborated with modeling agencies . and shot tests for novice models , now I can just write in Instagram or directly to the agencies.

What does a photographer like yourself think of Juergen Teller’s photography?

Juergen Teller , icon of photography , Celine campaigns are some of our most favorite fashion photos to me.

“I think that people are divided into two types , the first are people who have a talent inside from birth and the second are those who study technology , read books , and learn how to do it correctly.“

Where do you find your inspiration for your shoots?

First of all , I am inspired by travel , books , fashion , people , and of course instagram and popular models and photographers.

Advice to up and coming photographers?

Take pictures take pictures and take pictures again ! and never give up.

What’s a celebrity or place you’d like to photograph?

I always admire the photos of Julia Roberts , I would really like to take a picture of her.

Was it difficult finding work during COVID – 19?

When the pandemic came I canceled all photo shoots although requests were received all the time my husband and sat on isolation , and at first it was very difficult and then facetime photography appeared in my life and took a very small fee for this service but it was a very interesting time and there was at least some income . and I didn’t even leave home . So from St. Petersburg . I visited Ball Toronto Moscow and other cities online.
